Adafruit ENS160 - MOX gas sensor measures air quality (VOCs, eCO₂, TVOC, AQI) with onboard MCU and I2C interface. Supports temperature/humidity compensation for improved accuracy. Easy STEMMA QT/Qwiic connectivity, 3.3V/5V ready.
The Adafruit ENS160 MOX gas sensor provides a reliable way to measure air quality without managing heater control or analog signals. It integrates multiple metal-oxide sensing and heating elements on one chip, plus an onboard microcontroller to handle measurement and I2C communication.
The ENS160 replaces the discontinued CCS811 and offers similar functionality with updated drivers. Libraries for Arduino and CircuitPython support reading raw resistance values as well as TVOC, eCO₂, and AQI outputs.
The sensor supports temperature and humidity compensation for improved accuracy. By providing external RH% data via I2C, the sensor can reduce variations caused by environmental changes.
Key features include:
The breakout is designed in the STEMMA QT form factor, compatible with SparkFun Qwiic connectors for solderless connections and easy daisy-chaining. Onboard 3.3V regulator and level shifting allow use with both 3.3V and 5V systems.
