The Adafruit Trinkey QT2040 is a plug-and-play microcontroller board built around the RP2040, designed to plug directly into a USB-A port. STEMMA QT provides solder free connection to I2C devices.
The board features a Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller, 264 KB RAM, and 8 MB of SPI Flash for storing CircuitPython or MicroPython code. It also includes a built-in RGB NeoPixel, Reset and Boot buttons, and a STEMMA QT port for connecting multiple I2C accessories such as sensors, OLED displays, and IMUs. The STEMMA QT port is SparkFun Qwiic-compatible, so everything is truly plug-and-play.
Native USB works with every operating system, allowing the board to appear as a serial console, MIDI device, HID keyboard/mouse, or even a small disk drive for Python scripts. Programming is easy thanks to the built-in UF2 bootloader – just hold the BOOT button while plugging it into USB to load new firmware.
The board measures only 1.0" × 0.7" (approximately 25.4 × 17.8 mm) and includes four mounting holes for attaching QT add-on boards with M2.5 standoffs and screws.
