- "route track" detection is done by two infrared/phototransistor pairs
- common IR power control
- separate sensitivity control for each pair
- flashes two red LEDs as it progresses
- two DC motors with gears and large wheels
- 68 mm wheels with rubber coating
- mounts directly on the angular gearbox at the rear of the motor
- no reversing in the motor control electronics - only on/off functions
- runs on 2x AA batteries (battery holder under the base plate)
